Siesta Key is a Laguna Beach -inspired MTV reality show that first premiered on July 31, 2017, and amassed a large enough following to be renewed for a fifth cycle. She's also an avid film lover, screenwriter, and diehard Taylor Swift fan (she'll drop tidbits about Taylor into her articles any chance she gets.) Based in New York, Gina graduated from The New School in 2020 with a BFA in Screen Studies and later completed a Film & TV Essentials Course with Yellowbrick and NYU Tisch School Of The Arts. She fell in love with reality television in the early 2000s and developed much of her personality from watching Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie on The Simple Life.
Siesta Key is a barrier island near the coast of Sarasota in Florida. Gina Wurtz is a Reality TV Writer for Screenrant and joined the team in October 2021. Filming for the show is carried out in the place that its title refers to: Siesta Key.
